An 80-year-old Cornersville motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained in a crash Monday morning.

According to a report in the Lawrenceburg Now, the accident occurred on Monday morning on U.S. Highway 43 North in Three Oaks.

The newspaper reported Emerson Willis was traveling in the right hand lane of the roadway while 74-year-old Richard Cooper was traveling in the passing lane in a 1997 Chevy Blazer.

Officials reported the accident occurred as Cooper attempted to pass Willis, crossing into the motorcyclist's lane and striking the right quarter panel.

Willis was thrown from his 2007 Harley Davidson.

Willis was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville where he died a short time later from his injuries.

Copper was not injured in the accident.
