Firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire Monday afternoon in Belle Meade.

The blaze broke out in the garage of the home located in the 500 block of Lynnwood Boulevard around 12:30 p.m.

Landscapers in the yard spotted smoke coming from the back of the house and found flames coming from the roof of the garage.

They attempted to open the garage doors.

The Nashville Fire Department arrived and firefighters quickly put out the flames.

Damage from the fire was contained to the garage.

Officials said the home was vacant and the homeowner, who responded to the scene, had just moved to another house nearby.

After putting out the blaze, firefighters used foam to ensure all embers were extinguished.

Nashville Electric Service crews planned to shut off power to the home.

It was undetermined if foul play was involved.  Officials were investigating.
