KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Four people have been injured in Knoxville after a four-wheel-drive vehicle apparently went out of control.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the incident happened Saturday at the Fountain City Ball Park. Police spokesman Chris Baldwin said officers arrived to find that four people had been hit by an electric utility vehicle.
The driver, a 66-year-old man who was helping organize a tournament, told officers that the vehicle accelerated immediately after being turned on and hit two adults and two children.
Baldwin said all four were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
