A fire broke out at a home in north Nashville late Thursday night.

The police were called at 9:25 p.m. to the 4000 block of Meadow Hill Drive.

Officials said that three people were inside the home when the fire occurred, a married couple and their 4-year-old daughter.

The father was cooking when items on the stove caught fire.

The family tried to get the fire in control, but were unable to do and called the fire department.

They were then able to escape unharmed.

When the fire department arrived, they witnessed heavy smoke and visible flames.

It took a total of 20 minutes to put out the fire.
