Memphis gave coach Lionel Hollins permission to speak to other teams on Monday, but it doesn't seem like the coach will not be leaving the Grizzlies anytime soon.

Hollins told Sports 56 WHBQ-AM in Memphis that he thought everything was good after a meeting with team owner Robert Pera and chief executive officer Jason Levin a few days ago.

Hollins then heard the Grizzlies had given him permission to speak with other teams.

The reason why there may be concern around Hollin's presence in Memphis is due to the fact that the end of his contract is June 30.

The coach still insisted in a 28-minute interview that he should remain head coach of the Grizzlies.

Hollins is the winningest coach in franchise history.

The Grizzlies are coming off their first Western conference finals where they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs.
