A man has been charged with vehicular assault after a severe single-vehicle crash on Friday night in Nashville.
According to Metro police, James Dobbins was on the ramp to Interstate 40 East when he lost control, went off the road and crashed into a bridge around 11:30 p.m.
The passenger, Kinyata Harrison was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Trauma Unit with serious injuries.
Dobbins was also transported to Vanderbilt. He has since been treated and released.
Police said Dobbins had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Dobbins admitted to drinking and said he had three shots of vodka.
The passenger was not wearing her seatbelt.
