The Metro Public Health Department announced on Friday that a batch of collected mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The mosquitoes were captured near the intersection of Old Harding Pike and Harpeth Parkway in Bellevue. No human cases have been reported.
The health department plans to place additional mosquito traps and pass out fliers where the insects were collected. Staff will also inspect standing water areas and apply larvicide if mosquito larvae are present.
This is the second batch of collected mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile virus this month.
The first batch was collected in Bordeaux.
