The high scoring American defenseman in NHL history is now a member of the Nashville Predators coaching staff.
Just hours after announcing the firing of Peter Horachek the Preds announced the hiring of Phil Housley.
Housley played 21 NHL seasons wracking 338 goals and 894 assists.
He was a 7-time All-Star who wrapped up his playing career in 2003.
Housley's coaching career has come on the international level with the United State Junior team.
He led Team USA to a goal medal in 2013 and bronze medals in 2007 and 2011.
