The first ever “Shakesbeer” event will be held in Murfreesboro at the Discovery Center Friday night.
Seven craft breweries and one distillery will offer samples while actors with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival bring the playwright's famous drinking scenes to life during the unique event.
“I think Shakespeare is linked with revelry and a great time,” said Discovery Center CEO Tara MacDougal.
She continued, “When you think of microbreweries, people are so passionate about that, it brings out the fun in everybody.”
Shakesbeer will raise funds for education programs at Discovery Center, which benefits more than 20,000 students each year.
Doors open at 7 p.m. at Discovery Center on 502 SE Broad Street in Murfreesboro.
Tickets are $45 at the door.
