Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout Friday into the evening hours as an upper level low pressure system passes through parts of the Mid-South.

The Storm Prediction Center has pegged parts of Mississippi, Alabama and far southern Middle Tennessee, near the state line, for the threat of some stronger storm development.

Afternoon afternoon temperatures on Friday reached the upper 70s to low 80s.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Lincoln County and Giles County on Friday afternoon.

The rain chance is expected to diminish overnight into Saturday morning, although an isolated shower or thundershower is possible as temperatures drop to the 60s.

Saturday is not expected to be a washout and temperatures are expected to reach the low 80s.

On Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s. A few pop-up thunderstorms are a possibility during the afternoon.

By Monday temperatures are forecasted to reach near 90.
