A man has been convicted on several counts including rape and attempted sexual attacks after assaulting a female acquaintance.

A Davidson County Criminal Court jury found James Russell Jones Jr. guilty of two counts of aggravated rape, one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of attempted aggravated rape and one count of assault.

The attacks occurred in August 2011 which Jones took his victim to dinner and refused to take her home afterward.
