If you come downtown this weekend for the grand opening of the Music City Center you will be treated to some top notch entertainment, and much of that entertainment will involve music.

The Time Jumpers will be one of the featured performers.

“I am thrilled to death that our band gets to come down there and be a part of that,” said Vince Gill, country music artist and member of The Time Jumpers.

“It's wonderful. It's really an honor,” said Jeff Taylor, another member of The Time Jumpers.

“We're really looking forward to it. I think it's going to be a big deal,” said band mate Larry Franklin.

The Time Jumpers are just one of a group of diverse entertainers that will be a part of the opening ceremony.

Other performers include Sheryl Crow, The Nashville Symphony, The Fisk Jubilee singers, Phil Vasar as well as Mikky Ekko and Ten Out of Tenn.

“We are absolutely honored. I can't wait to see the new facility. It has been great watching it go up,” said Andy Reece, another member of The Time Jumpers.

Gill added that he believes Karl Dean has done an amazing job as Nashville's mayor.

“And having the foresight to pull that off and make that happen. There were so many nay sayers when he wanted to do that. Power to him,” Gill continued.

The grand opening of the Music City Center takes place this Sunday and Monday, May 18 and 19.
