A man who fled the scene after hitting a woman as she attempted to cross Broadway between 4th and 5th avenues early Sunday morning has been arrested.

Ryan Moy, 23, of Morton Grove, Illinois, was driving his 1995 Honda Accord on Broadway at 1:40 a.m. when he hit Angela Riley, 25, of Decatur, Georgia.

Witnesses recorded his license plate number which was broadcast over the police radio. An officer spotted the Honda speeding on Broadway at 12th Avenue.

The officer that stopped Moy said he smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes.

Police said Moy's performance in field sobriety tasks indicated impairment.

Before going to jail, Moy was taken to General Hospital for a blood sample which will be analyzed by the TBI Crime Laboratory for alcohol & drug content.

Riley was critically injured and is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Moy is charged with felony vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury and failure to render aid.

He was released Sunday morning after posting a $16,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
