A Vanleer firefighter and his wife sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night.

According to a report in the Dickson Herald, Alan Faircloth and his wife Alyssa were traveling on Highway 235 around 9 p.m. when their motorcycle struck a deer.

Alan Faircloth was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Friends reported to the newspaper Alan sustained head injuries.

He and his wife both suffer from road rash.

Alan Faircloth previously worked at the Dickson Fire Department.

No additional information was released.
