From YouTube to the Big Apple, two middle school wrestlers from Williamson County made their television debut on Good Morning America.

It has been a whirlwind week for Josh Stevens and Justin Kievit, two boys who met in a middle school wrestling match, a match that captured the heart of Good Morning America anchor Josh Elliott.

Like millions of people around the world, Elliott was touched by the friendship of Jared and Justin.

Their story began last December on YouTube when Jared, who has cerebral palsy, faced Justin in their first wrestling match.

“I didn't know what to do.  I went over to wrestle him.  I shook his hand.  I noticed he couldn't move. I like sat on the mat, pulled him over me and slid under him like that,” Justin said.

Jared won the match in 18 seconds.

“He looked at me with a cheerful face and smiled at me when the match was over, and that made me feel really good,” Justin explained.

Elliott came to Williamson County last week to meet the boys and gave them a special invitation.

“You would be doing me a great honor, if you would join me in New York on GMA on Thursday,” Elliot said to the boys.

And when Jared's dog was invited to tag along, the trip was on.

The biggest surprise was when Rulon Gardner, an Olympic gold medal champion, came out to see the boys.

The boys received medals and praise from Gardner.

“Sportsmanship is being able to go out and share with somebody what competition is like and what success is and also, maybe a loss, but it's not always about winning or losing, it's about the opportunity to compete and you guys show that everyday,” Gardner said.

It was an experience that the 13-year-old boys will never forget, and a reminder about the true value of sportsmanship.
