A popular Web site has named Tennessee the top state to retire to.
According to Bankrate.com, Tennessee tops the list due to its low cost of living.
The Web site also analyzed other characteristics such as access to health care, number of hospital beds and doctors per capita and crime rates.
“When you think of best places to retire, you would think of Florida or Arizona,” Chris Kahn, Bankrate.com's research and statistics analyst who prepared the report told ABC News. “States that are not top tourist destinations have a lot to offer.”
Other states topping the list of places to retire include Louisiana, South Dakota, Kentucky, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, Nebraska and North Dakota.
