A hail storm hit Winchester Sunday evening turning the ground into a winter wonderland.
Around 4:45 p.m., the hail storm moved into Franklin County from the south.
“It wasn't your typical hailstorm. It wasn't your typical thunderstorm. It was a lot of things just mixed together,” resident Stacy Solomon said.
Resident Dean Binkley added, “Never have I seen anything like this.”
Residents told Nashville's News 2 that this is the worst hail storm they have seen in years.
Solomon reported the hail fell for around 15 minutes.
“We had hail depth of six inches and massive amount of water coming down at the same time. Wind going every different direction. At one point we thought we were in a tornado,” he said.
No injuries or serious property damage were immediately reported.
