East Nashville is getting even hotter, literally, with a new hot yoga studio opening on 900 Main Street.
“It's a yoga series in a 104° room with 40% humidity,” said Brook Asbury, who left her job as a geologist in Seattle to open Hot Yoga of East Nashville.
“A 90 minute class is said to burn up to 1,200 calories,” she added.
Asbury cited the seemingly endless list of hot yoga's benefits.
“It allows you to stretch deeper, makes your muscle softer and just detoxifies the entire body through the sweat,” she explained.
She also mentioned the mental toughness built from enduring the hot humid conditions.
Some classes will be held in the courtyard the studio shares with Fat Bottom Brewing.
Hot Yoga of East Nashville will host an open house all day Saturday with free classes, vegetarian snacks and kid's yoga.
The new yoga hotspot is set to open for business Monday.
New students can get their first 10 classes for $20.
