A man is in custody for shooting two people after a bar fight in Berry Hill last week.

Metro police arrested Jonathan Dyer, 22, for attempted homicide, Tuesday.

Police said Dyer got into a verbal fight with Jesse Solomon April 23 at Melrose Billiards on Franklin Pike.

According to an affidavit, Dyer threw a beer bottle and the group was thrown out of the bar.

The fight continued in the parking lot.

Police said the two men got into a physical fight and then Dyer went to his vehicle and got a .32 caliber pistol.

Police said Dyer shot Solomon in the hip.  Solomon's friend Casey Whitaker tried to assist him and Dyer fired a shot at him too.

Whitaker was shot in the right arm, which severed an artery.

On Tuesday, April 30, a police officer recognized Dyer riding in the passenger seat of a car and stopped the vehicle.

Dyer told the officer he knew that police were looking for him. Police found a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

Dyer was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of attempted homicide.
