A Nashville woman was arrested on Friday for aggravated child abuse.

Police said 47-year-old Latrenda Sneed put her six-year-old son in a bathtub with water and beat him with a stick.

The child told police he got into trouble for forgetting to bring his folder home from school.

Police said the boy had welts and bruises on his face and body.

Sneed allegedly made the child take off his clothes, get in the tub and put water on him in an effort to increase the pain.

Sneed told police, “I know I went too far yesterday.”

Sneed remains in Davidson County Jail, her bond has been placed at $75,000.
