Metro police have charged a convicted burglar with 11 west Nashville residential break-ins after the 26-year-old admitted to the crimes.
Matthew Vitalis is accused of breaking into homes located on Pennywell Drive, Russleo Drive, Davidson Drive, Cross Creek Road, Park Lane, Castleman Drive, Lindawood Drive, Wallace Lane and Trimble Road beginning in early March.
Police said they developed Vitalis as a person of interest after officers recovered a backpack that he left behind at a home located on Davidson Drive.
Vitalis was initially taken into police custody last week on two outstanding probation violations.
While jailed, he admitted to the 11 burglaries and said he committed the crimes to support a drug habit.
He remains jailed.
