The 27th annual Southern Women's Show was held this weekend at the Nashville Convention Center.
For the last 27 years, women have been attending the Southern Women's Show at the Nashville Convention Center.
“I think we were one of the very first events that was actually held here.” said Stacey Abernathy, the executive show manager.
“I have personally been managing the show for 17 years so we have seen the city change and grow.”
Abernethy tells Nashville's News 2 the show uses every available space of the current convention center.
“We have maxed out every nook and cranny here at the convention center and are excited there is going to be room for an even bigger and larger show next year.”
Abernathy is excited because the 28th Annual Southern Women's show next year will be held in the brand new Music City Center.
“We are going to be taking up two of the four halls and that is over 180 thousand square feet so you can see it is going to be a big, big change.”
Abernathy said she was given a sneak peek of the new convention center this week and is already making plans for next year.
“I had a company come down from New York that looking to bring a feature element to the show that needed more square footage then we could actually accommodate this year so hopefully there's some new things happening.
Whatever happens, the exhibitors and show staff are excited about returning to Nashville next year.
This year's celebrity guests included The Bachelor, Sean Lowe, Miss Kay Robertson of A&E's Duck Dynasty, Deidre Hall, Stella Parton, and Miss United States Whitney Miller.
The show ran from Thursday April 18 – Sunday April 21 2013.
