KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Rawane Ndiaye, a 6-foot-10 center from Indian Hills Community College, is the newest member of Tennessee's recruiting class.
Tennessee announced Thursday through a university release that Ndiaye had signed a letter of intent with the Volunteers. Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin said Ndiaye would “bring a level of physicality and toughness to our frontcourt.”
Martin said Ndiaye has lost close to 80 pounds over the last two years. Ndiaye now weighs 270.
A broken foot limited him to 15 games last season for Indian Hills, located in Ottumwa, Iowa. He averaged 2.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Ndiaye will be a junior during the 2013-14 season. He joins a recruiting class that already included swingman A.J. Davis and guards Robert Hubbs, Travon Landry and Darius Thompson.
