A student basketball player at Christ Presbyterian Academy is facing serious charges after Metro police discovered a rifle inside his car.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Coleman Spann after finding an AR-15 rifle, and unloaded shotgun, and several boxes of shotgun ammunition in his car while it was parked on school property Monday.
According to a police affidavit, a witness called police after receiving a report of Spann having alcohol in his vehicle.
Spann consented to a search.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found the unloaded rifle.
Spann is a junior guard on the CPA basketball team.
He is free on bond and is charged with possession of firearms on school property.
