The Southeastern Conference and ESPN plan to formally announce the creation of the SEC television channel Tuesday, According to Street & Smith's SportsBusiness.
The Nashville Business Journal reported Tuesday that the studio is expected to be headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. at the ESPN Regional Television offices. The primary sales outlet will be based in Atlanta.
Plans have been in the works since the fall of 2011.
The new channel is expected to launch in August 2014.
No further details were immediately released.
