Metro police say the hunt for 17-year-old Eric Goodner continues to intensify.

“Someone here in the Nashville area knows where he is, knows where he slept last night,” said Metro Police Department North Precinct Commander Terrence Graves.

He continued, “The longer he stays out there someone else could be in danger. Anybody that’s willing to do that, they’re a danger to society and I don’t think you’ll want them laying their head next to your home.”

Goodner is suspected of shooting 17-year-old Johnathan Johnson at point blank range Thursday morning.

Johnson was on his way to the bus stop, headed to Pearl Cohn High School when he was killed.

Graves told Nashville’s News 2, “This wasn’t a random act of violence. Unfortunately, the victim was targeted. We don’t know for what reason. What causes a person to go out in the middle of the morning and decide I’m going to go murder someone?”

Police said Goodner is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities also believe Goodner is still in the area, possibly being helped by people in the community.

“He’s 17-years-old,” added Graves. “I doubt he has a bank account with $100,000 in it and has unlimited resources. Somebody is helping him.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
