Bobby Harris, a six-year-old twin from Lebanon, underwent surgery Wednesday to remove a brain tumor.

Nashville's News 2 first met Bobby in February. He and his brother Johnny are among 15 sets of twins at Castle Heights Elementary in the Lebanon Special School District.

Bobby's father, John Harris, reached out to Reporter Heather Jensen Wednesday morning.

“Please keep Bobby and the family in your prayers,” he said in an email.

The surgery at Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is to “remove a rapidly growing tumor.”

Following the surgery, Harris said of his son, “He has made it through the first battle.”

No additional information was provided regarding Bobby's illness or treatment.
