Four local college students were arrested early Sunday morning, following a party in Murfreesboro.

Officers responded to a disturbance at the Elk's Lodge on Halls Hill Pike shortly after 2 a.m.

According to police, several people were seen fighting in adjacent parking lots on both sides of the street.

Darrian Hanna, 20, Justin Smith, 19, Raynard Williamson, 19, and Travis Murphy Jr, 19, were arrested.

According to the arrest report, Hanna, a former Tennessee State University football player, refused to leave, smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.

He was charged with disorderly conduct, underage drinking and public intoxication.

Smith was accused of striking an officer before taking off in a car while the officer was caught in the door.

He was charged with assault, evading arrest, resisting arrest and underage drinking.

Williamson was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, while Murphy was charged with disorderly conduct only.

The reports list all four young men as students of either MTSU or TSU with home addresses in Chattanooga.

In a written statement to Nashville's News 2, spokeman Rick DelaHaya confirmed Hanna had not returned to the TSU football team this year.

He also said, “TSU is currently reviewing information related to this weekend's incident and the student's alleged involvement.”

Neighbors of the Elk's Lodge property where the party took place said the facility has not been a traditional Elk's Lodge in years, and they were not surprised by what happened over the weekend.

They also said the building is frequently overflowing with people on event nights.

Nashville's News 2 attempted to reach out to the Elk's Lodge management for comment, but listed numbers were non-working.

In February, five MTSU students and football players were arrested in a similar incident involving large crowds, underage drinking, and fighting outside a club on Main Street.
