A man on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list was taken into custody in Indiana on Wednesday night.
Danyon Dowlen was wanted by authorities in Clarksville on an outstanding warrant related to a shooting on September 18, 2012 that claimed the life of 50-year-old Charles Sims.
Sims was found lying in a street with multiple gunshot wounds before he was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he later died.
Clarksville police reported they received a tip on Monday that Dowlen was possibly in Indiana.
Dowlen was taken into custody at a residence in Evansville, Indiana. Authorities reported at the time of his arrest he was in the possession of a gun
Dowlen, who has a lengthy criminal history that dates back to 1992, was booked into an Indiana jail.
He is currently waiting extradition to Clarksville for criminal homicide.
