A robbery victim was taken to the hospital for stab wounds after a man and woman forced their way inside his Bordeaux home.

The incident happened just after midnight in the 4000 block of Boyd Drive near Kings Lane.

The resident, a 75-year-old man, told police that a man and woman, who were wearing hoodies, knocked on his door and forced their way inside the home.

While inside, the two suspects bound his arms with tape, stabbed him in the neck and stole his wallet.

The suspects then stole the man's car and drove it to White's Creek Pike where they left the victim.

Wearing only a t-shirt, shorts and no shoes, Westmoreland stumbled to a nearby house.

The homeowners told Nashville's News 2 that he stood at the front door dazed and covered in blood begging for help. The residents called 911.

When police responded, they spotted the suspects in the backyard of the victim's home. The two fled from the cops, leaving the man's wallet and car behind.

Those close to the victim said one of the suspects is likely someone he knows.

“Mr. Westmoreland is the kind of person who wouldn't let just anybody in his house,” said Elizabeth Gooch, his neighbor of 35 years. “You just have to be careful with the people you deal with.”

The victim is at the hospital recovering with non-life threatening injuries.

He suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung, in addition to cuts to his face, neck and hands, according to family members.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
