The Tennessee Titans finally have their change of pace running back for Chris Johnson.
Wednesday on the second day of the NFL's free agent period, multiple reports have the Titans agreeing to terms with former Jets running back Shonn Greene.
It's reportedly a three-year deal worth $10 million.
Mike Munchak has expressed an interest in getting a “bigger” back to compliment Johnson's speed and cut down on the pounding he takes all season.
Greene certainly fills that roll at 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 235 pounds.
“He is a nice complement to Chris [Johnson] and an accomplished back in his own right,” said Titans general manager Ruston Webster. “He is a tough and physical runner who has rushed for 1,000 yards each of the last two years.”
In four seasons with the Jets, Greene has rushed 3,243 yards and 18 touchdowns. He had a career high 1,063 last season.
Greene was a third round draft pick out of Iowa in 2009.
