A wet commute is caused traffic delays along several roadways and Interstates in and around Nashville Monday morning.
Traffic was slow in Wilson County after a crash along Interstate 40. The incident was reported just before 7 a.m. on I-40 east at mile marker 231.
Eastbound traffic was affected with the right lane block. The crash was expected to be cleared by 8:30 a.m.
A multi-vehicle accident was reported on Nolensville Road at Harding Place around 6:45 a.m.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident. Injuries were reported in the incident.
No further details were immediately released.
A bus and an SUV were involved in an accident in Madison.
The incident was reported just before 7 a.m. on Dickerson Pike at West Old Hickory Boulevard.
According to officials, the driver of the SUV said the bus accelerated and then suddenly stopped. The driver of the SUV rear-ended the bus.
The engine of the SUV caught fire. No one was injured.
Another bus assisted in taking the students to school.
One lane of Old Hickory Boulevard is blocked while crews clear the scene.
Drivers are urged to use caution on the roads, especially in high volume areas.
The rain is expected to linger in Nashville through noontime. Counties east of Davidson should expect rainfall throughout the day.
Temperatures will reach the mid-50s Monday and Tuesday.
