A Metro officer en route to work arrested a 32-year-old man for his fourth DUI offense.
According to police, Ashley Miller was taken into police custody around 10 p.m. Thursday night on Old Hickory Boulevard after an Officer Peter Lynch witnessed Miller's truck swerving and rapidly changing lanes.
Police said despite Lynch activating his emergency equipment, Miller did not pull over until he arrived at his home on Charlotte Pike.
While interacting with Miller, Lynch reported the man had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. An open container of alcohol was also found inside the car.
Upon refusing a field sobriety test, Miller was taken to an area hospital for a mandatory blood test required by Tennessee law.
In addition to a DUI charge, Miller is charged with evading arrest and violation of an open container.
He has since been released on a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
