Thompson's Station will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Thompson's Station Saturday.
The battleground of the historic Homestead Manor will be transformed to 1863, with more than a 100 re-enactors, artillery demonstrations, food and crafts vendors.
Organizers told Nashville's News 2 they have been planning the event for nearly a year and are expecting thousands of people.
“Rarely do you get to have an event on the battlefield. It's typically adjacent or near by, but this is on the actual battlefield which is pretty cool,” event co-chair Dr. Monty McInturff said.
The living history day is put on by the Thompson's station economic development committee.
There is a suggested minimum donation of $1 per adult. All donations will support the historic preservation efforts in the community.
