A Kentucky man is okay after crashing into a rock wall while exiting Interstate 24 in south Nashville Monday morning.
The incident was reported just after 6:30 a.m. while exiting I-24 east at Murfreesboro Road.
The driver told police he was in town for a job interview and that he was apparently driving too fast down the ramp because he was not familiar with the area.
He was unable to stop before hitting the rock wall.
He was trapped for approximately 10 to 15 minutes before the fire department was able to cut him out of the vehicle using the Jaws of Life to remove the door.
Officials told Nashville's News 2 he suffered mostly minor injuries to his face and was transported to local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The ramp is closed while crews clear the scene. It is expected to reopen around 8 a.m.
