Drummer Gregg Lohman, who plays in the band for country music star Kellie Pickler, is in serious but stable condition after a car crash in Kentucky Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Interstate 65 south in Kentucky near Glendale.

Lohman was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was one of three people injured in the four-car collision, which involved a tractor-trailer and three other cars.

The incident occurred just 30 minutes after another crash in the northbound lanes of I-65 in the same area.

Police said six members of a Wisconsin family were killed and two were injured when their SUV was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Norman Chaffins said weather was not a factor in either crash.

Trooper Chaffins said crews are investigating whether rubbernecking was the cause.

Following news of the accident, Kellie Pickler released a statement on her Facebook page which read, “Yesterday, my drummer Gregg Lohman was in a horrific car accident and is currently in ICU. Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family. I believe in miracles and the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band, and Gregg's family if you would please keep him in your prayers. Thank y'all so much.”

The investigation is ongoing.
