A wind advisory is in effect for parts of Middle Tennessee until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning as heavy rain pushes through the area.
Wind gusts could reach up to 40 miles-per-hour as a storm front pushes through overnight.
Heavy rain with thunder and lightning is expected to hit from Nashville west. Severe storms are not expected to occur.
The rain is expected to pick up along the Interstate-65 corridor between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Temperatures will fall to the mid 40s overnight and rise to the lower 50s by 12 p.m. Tuesday, only to fall again into the afternoon.
Scattered showers will occur throughout Tuesday, but temperatures should stay just warm enough to keep it from freezing.
The rest of the week, however, there will likely be scattered showers with snow flurries and light rain.
