At last, Nashville is getting an H&M. For those with a passion for fashion, the new store can't come soon enough.

The Swedish company's newest location will open in June at Opry Mills Mall.

It will be the global clothing giant's first store in Tennessee.

“I was so excited when I heard.  I feel like for a big city like Nashville, it's long overdue to have an H&M,” said local resident AJ Strout.

The closest H&M to Nashville is Huntsville, Alabama.

Strout recently made the trip to Alabama to check out the latest trends.

“This was kind of like the preview to come check out what they have down here,” said Strout.

H&M is known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics at affordable prices.

“There is something for everyone in the family.  I mean, it's just a great store,” said Strout.

The opening will be huge for Nashville residents who love to shop at H&M because you can't buy the retailer's clothing online.

The local store will have merchandise for men, women and children.  It will have an athletic department, a maternity section and a special plus size department, as well as accessories.

If the local grand opening is anything like it has been in other cities, expect a long line of customers waiting to get their hands on the latest finds.

“The lines were so insane,” said Huntsville customer Rachel Green.

“A lot of people didn't know what it was at first, but then when it hit it was just successful,” said shopper Takeyla Scott.

The retailer promises 25,000 square feet of high fashion when the new store opens.
