A Tennessee Congressman is now saying the young college student he was tweeting during President Obama's State of the Union speech earlier this week is his daughter.
Victoria Brink first tweeted Congressman Steve Cohen during the speech saying, “@RepCohen just saw you on tv!”
The unmarried Memphis democrat responded back to Brink twice.
He first tweeted, “@victoria_brink pleased [you are] watching. ilu.”
He then tweeted, “@victoria_brink nice to know you were [watching] SOTU [State of the Union]. [Happy Valentine's] beautiful girl. ilu.”
Both messages were tagged with “ilu,” meaning “I love you,” and both were deleted within minutes of being tweeted.
Rep. Cohen's Press Secretary told Nashville's News 2 on Thursday Brink is his daughter.
His Press Secretary said Cohen just learned about her three years ago. Wednesday, his Press Secretary said the 24-year-old woman was a longtime family friend.
Cohen has never been married.
