While it's the busiest day of the year for Sharon Harwelll at Richland Flower Shop, she still jumped on board to give two deserving News 2 viewers a bouquet of red roses.
News 2 viewers were asked to nominate a deserving loved one for an arrangement and after reading dozens of heartfelt entries, Henry Veals was selected as the lucky winner.
Henry recently underwent double knee surgery, confining him to a wheelchair. His wife has taken off work to care for him.
“She takes lots of time off work, like when he has a doctor's appointment she will take off and be like, ‘Oh, I'll just work a double next week,'” the couple's daughter Brittany told Nashville's News 2. “She takes a lot of time off work. She does that because she loves him.”
Henry says he wanted to show his family his appreciation.
He said, “I was really shocked when they called yesterday and was like, ‘Wow, I can't believe it.' It's really made my day.”
Flowers were delivered to Brittany, who's celebrating her 18th birthday, and to Jewel, who just celebrated her 30th anniversary with Henry, on Nashville's News 2 The Morning.
