The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday arrested and charged a current inmate at the Sumner County jail for attempting to have someone killed.
Frederick Dietz, 63, of Hendersonville, was indicted on one count of solicitation of first degree murder.
He was being held on drug charges at the time of the indictment.
The TBI said information was received last October that Dietz was attempting to have a witness in his drug case murdered.
He also made comments to associates not to interfere in the murder plot.
Dietz remains behind bars on a $250,000 bond.
