The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested three Rutherford County men for their involvement in stealing scrap metal from an area landfill and selling it for personal use.
Joey Black, 43, Clint Polesec, 39, and Michael Harris, 45, were each indicted with one count of theft over $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft.
Black and Polesec were also indicted for official misconduct.
According to authorities, Harris, who owns an area business, entered into an agreement with Polesec and Black who both worked at the county landfill at the time of the thefts.
In the agreement, Black and Polesec would load scrap metal using county equipment into a designated dumpster at the site.
Harris would then take the metal to be recycled and split the profit with the other two men.
Authorities began investigating the trio last August.
Black and Polesec were terminated from the positions at the landfill last October.
All three men were booked into the Rutherford County Jail on 2,500 bonds.
