A Nashville man is changing the way bakeries do business.
Since the competition is early to rise and early to bed, Jake Veyhl decided to take the opposite approach.
Jake's Bakes is open from 6 p.m. until Midnight, with Jake and his staff baking cookies and delivering them to your doorstep.
“I like dessert and I like making people smile,” Veyhl told Nashville's News 2, adding, “I think the smell of the cookies, creating that homemade experience, without the mess without the hassle, delivered straight to your door, is a market that's really growing here in Nashville.”
Right now, Veyhl delivers in a five-mile radius of downtown Nashville.
He averages about an hour for each delivery.
“Nashville is really becoming more of an urban landscape and I think in areas like that, kitchens are smaller in those apartments and people don't want to get all the ingredients out,” he said. “They want food without the hassle.”
Since milk goes with cookies, like peanut butter goes with jelly, he delivers that too.
A dozen cookies cost $16, including delivery.
