The family of a Tennessee woman who died from fungal meningitis last fall has filed a multi-million lawsuit against a major hospital system.

Diana Reed, 56, died in October after she received a tainted injection at the Saint Thomas Outpatient Neurosurgery Center.

Reed’s husband, Wayne, is now seeking more than $12 million in damages from the clinic.

In Tennessee 14 patients have died of fungal meningitis since the outbreak last fall.

Additional lawsuits are expected to follow.
