A special vigil was held Wednesday night for a 19-year-old Middle Tennessee State University student killed in a crash late last month.

Taylor Stahlman died in west Tennessee the day after Christmas.

She was on her way back to school when her car hit an icy patch on Lexie Cobb Highway in Dyer County near the Missouri state line and careened down a 30-foot ditch.

Stahlman wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.  She died at the scene.

She was honored Wednesday night when her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, dedicated their sorority house in her name.

In addition to being a member of the AOPi sorority, Stahlman was a Mass Communications major at the university 45 minutes southeast of Nashville.
