Interstate 24 was partially blocked off Tuesday night after a tractor trailer's fuel tank ruptured.
The fuel spill was reported around 11 p.m. along I-24 west between Harding Place and Briley Parkway.
According to police, the truck driver saw the tank rupture and immediately pulled over.
No fuel was spilled onto the roadway, but it leaked onto the side of the road in a ditch.
About 100 gallons of diesel fuel was lost.
Environmental crews used cat litter to cover up the spill.
The far right lane was blocked for a few hours. It has since reopened.
