One person sustained injuries after being shot in the leg and foot in north Nashville early Monday evening.
The shooting occurred at 1406 Phillips Street, which is near Fisk University, around 4:45 p.m.
Authorities said the 32-year-old gunshot victim was crossing the street when he was approached by three men in a white car.
Police reported one of the men jumped out of the car and opened fire on the victim.
The victim, who said he had no affiliation with the men inside the car, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
“At this point, the investigation is in its early stages and detectives are looking into leads that they have gotten at this point,” Gordon Howey of Metro police said.
The victim's condition nor identity was not immediately released.
