It's been nearly eight weeks since a Williamson County woman was carjacked at gunpoint at her Cottonwood neighborhood.

Authorities told Nashville's News 2 on Monday the alleged gunman remains at large and investigators still have few clues to go on.

The incident occurred on November 26 around 8:30 p.m. as the victim was returning to her Franklin home.

According to authorities, the masked man jumped into the woman's car and ordered her to drive to an ATM near Hillsboro Road.

The gunman also demanded the victim's purse, but the handbag was in her trunk at the time.

The masked man orders her to pull over at a park in nearby Fieldstone Farms where the woman was able to escape.

In a 911 call, the victim tells a dispatcher that she was just held up at gunpoint.

“He is on the loose in Fieldstone Farms,” the victim tells dispatch. “He was following me to the trunk to get my purse. I got my purse and I started to run.”

Investigators said they believe the gunman is familiar with the area because of the directions he gave the victim.

“We just need the public's help. Maybe someone saw something that night. Maybe they heard something that night. Maybe they found gloves or a ski mask or something in their back yard,” a detective said.

The victim told Nashville's News 2 Investigates she is still shaken by the incident, but is thankful she was not physically harmed.

Investigators believe the carjacking was random.

The suspect is described as a young black male that is around five feet, eight inches and weighs about 155 pounds.

Authorities believe he may be in the area.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-794-4000.
