The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado struck Eagleville late Sunday afternoon.
The tornado occurred about two miles south of Eagleville along Floyd Road in southwest Rutherford County.
Around 100 trees were uprooted and snapped along the storm's mile-and-a-half path.
Eagleville resident Wayne Banner told Nashville's News 2 he had just minutes to take cover as the storm hit his home.
“The wind just immediately went to blowing a 100-miles-an-hour. I could see things flying all around the house and the house was kind of popping and creaking,” he recalled.
The fast moving storm ripped off part of Banner's roof and scattered debris through his yard. The strong storm also left water damage to his home and damage to his home's siding.
No injuries were reported.
