A Spring Hill man remains jailed after it was discovered he had produced multiple child pornographic videos last summer.
According to investigators, the young female victims in the videos, ages five and eight, are related to the suspect, Shawn Parks.
Parks allegedly videotaped and made three videos of the children while they were visiting his home on Joe Brown Road over the summer.
The arrest affidavit states Parks confessed to taping the girls and said he used his cell to record the young victims.
Parks reportedly told FBI agents the videos were made while the kids were asleep during their two week visit.
According to the affidavit, the pornography was later uploaded to a YouTube account.
The recent arrest documents stated the FBI's Cyber Task Force flagged the child pornography on December 7.
A search warrant was then executed at a residence in Pearland, Texas. A man who lives at the home confirmed he had been supplied the pornographic link by a YouTube user known as “Rhino 9571”
“This Pearland resident stated that “Rhino 9571″ had furnished him a link to download the three videos containing sexually explicit conduct involving a young female child,” the affidavit read.
FBI agents in Middle Tennessee quickly tracked the online account to Parks.
On December 19, a special agent went to the Spring Hill home that Parks reportedly shares with his father.
The affidavit stated in part, “I showed Parks two still images that I had taken from one of the above described videos. Parks confirmed that the images were that of his relatives and that he had created the video.”
Nashville's News 2 Investigates contacted Parks' father, Doug for a comment regarding the crude videos.
“All I have to say is, he is innocent of the charges they made,” Doug said.
The head of the FBI Violent Crimes Squad added it is not only illegal to produce and distribute images of child sexual abuse online; it is also illegal to view such images.
“The threat of child exploitation continues to rise through the sophistication and development of various file sharing platforms utilized via the internet. To combat this criminal threat, the FBI and federally deputized officers from the TBI and several local law enforcement agencies on the Child Exploitation Task Force, utilize these same technologies to target, identify and arrest these subjects to counter further online exploitation of children,” Matthew Dunn of the FBI Violent Crimes Squad added.
The Child Exploitation Task Force has the ability to identity those people who look at such images.
Parks remains in federal custody. His case is expected to be presented to a grand jury in the spring.
